Leaving it on for months
A magnet has to come off regularly. Water and grit work underneath, sit there, and mark the paint where the sign has been. Take it off, wash both the panel and the back of the magnet, dry them, put it back. Weekly is plenty.

A magnetic car sign is printed vinyl on a flexible magnetic sheet, cut to the flat area of your own door or panel. It goes on in seconds and comes off in seconds, which is the whole reason to choose one over a decal: the vehicle is branded on Monday and anonymous on Saturday, and a leased or personal car carries no adhesive and no removal bill. Cut to your measurements rather than to a stock rectangle, because the flat area between a door handle, a crease and a window rubber is different on every model.
A magnet holds on flat steel. It will not hold on an aluminium or plastic panel, and it will not hold across a crease — both are common on modern utes and vans, so measure the flat area rather than the whole door. If the panel is not steel, cut decals are the answer instead.
They are quoted per job rather than from a price list, because a magnet is cut to the flat area of one particular panel and there is no stock size to price from. Panel size and how many you order are the two biggest factors. Send a photo of the door and a rough width and height and you get a written price, GST included, within 4 business hours.
Not if it comes off regularly. The damage people report is not the magnet, it is water and grit sitting underneath one that has not moved in six months. Take it off weekly, wash and dry both the panel and the back of the magnet, and put it back on. On factory paint in good condition that is the whole maintenance routine.
Yes. Car magnets, magnetic car signs and vehicle magnetic signs are the same thing: a printed magnetic sheet cut to the flat area of a panel, usually a door, that comes off when the car is off duty. For lettering that stays on, see vehicle signage.
Yes, provided it sits entirely on flat steel. A magnet grips only where it touches, so one bridging a body crease lifts in the middle, takes air at speed and leaves the vehicle. Measure the flat area between the handle, the crease and the window rubber rather than the whole door, and order to that.
Only to steel. Aluminium and composite panels are common on newer utes, vans and tailgates and a magnet will not hold on either. Test the exact panel with a fridge magnet before ordering. If it does not hold, cut decals do the same job permanently.
Magnets, almost always. Nothing is stuck to the vehicle, there is no adhesive residue and no removal cost at the end of the lease, and the car is unbranded the moment you take it off. Decals make sense when the vehicle is owned, the branding is permanent and the design needs to sit across shapes a flat magnet cannot follow.
Yes. They are printed and cut at the nearest of our presses in NSW, QLD and VIC and couriered to you, with delivery included in the quote; allow 1 to 2 working days longer outside NSW, QLD and VIC. There is nothing to fit and no installer visit — they arrive ready to put on the vehicle.
Tell the desk as soon as it lands, with a photo of what you received. If the fault is in the making, it is remade under the reprints policy; if it is in the artwork, we say so straight rather than reprinting the same mistake. When your print arrives wrong walks through what to photograph and what to expect.
Yes. Tell us the vehicle and the panel (a door, a slab side or a tailgate) and its width and height, and we quote a magnet cut to it, usually in pairs for both sides. A photo of the panel is enough to start.

All four are avoidable and none of them is obvious
A magnet has to come off regularly. Water and grit work underneath, sit there, and mark the paint where the sign has been. Take it off, wash both the panel and the back of the magnet, dry them, put it back. Weekly is plenty.
A magnet only grips where it touches. Bridge a body line or a swage and the middle lifts, air gets under it at speed, and the sign leaves the vehicle somewhere on the motorway. Measure the flat area only.
Bonnets, tailgates and van doors are increasingly aluminium or composite. Test it with a fridge magnet before ordering anything. It takes ten seconds and it is the difference between a sign and a waste of money.
The car behind you is moving. One number, big, and a trade in three words beats a full service list nobody can finish reading. Letter height against viewing distance has the actual figures.
A photo of the door square on, plus a rough width and height of the flat area. The dimensions tool marks the measurements straight onto the photo in your browser, and nothing is uploaded because there is no upload endpoint.
GST and delivery included, within 4 business hours. Nothing is charged at this point and nothing is committed.
Send a print-ready file, or tell us the name, number and trade and our designers set it. Setting up a print-ready file is free; if our designers lay it out from your details, that design is quoted before we start.
The proof opens on your phone with no login. Mark it up if it is wrong. Nothing goes to press until you approve it, and the invoice follows the approval rather than preceding it.
