Campaign print for a date that will not move

A campaign runs to polling day, and everything it prints has to be up before the voting starts: corflute on the fences, A-frames outside the booths, flyers in the letterboxes and shirts on the volunteers. Every piece also has to carry an authorisation line, and every sign has to meet the council’s rules. We print it; you check the rules. Both matter.

What most campaigns order

For the posting period and for polling day

Two rules, and who sets them

Electoral law says what must be printed on it. Electoral material carries an authorisation statement naming who authorised it, whatever its size. The wording differs for a party, a group and an independent, and it can change between elections, so take it from the electoral commission’s page for the election you are contesting. Put it on the artwork before it comes to us; we print what the approved proof says.

Planning law says how big, where and for how long. In New South Wales election signs can be exempt development if they meet the size and placement standard; in Queensland it is council by council. Our guides walk through what to check in each state: election signs in NSW , election signs in Queensland and election signs in Victoria, where the state election is on 28 November 2026.

This page and the guides are orientation, not legal advice. Confirm the current rules before you order.

Common questions

What size should election corflute be?

600 × 900mm is the size most campaigns use, and it is inside the NSW exempt-development limit commonly cited for urban zones. Whether it is inside the limit where your signs will stand is the council’s to confirm. The free print templates have a 600 × 900mm corflute template with the safe area marked.

Do you put the authorisation line on for us?

No — it has to be on the artwork you approve. The wording is the campaign’s responsibility, and it has to come from the electoral commission’s own guidance for your election, not from a previous campaign’s sign.

How far ahead should we order?

Corflute takes 2-4 working days from payment, delivered. The proof round is what takes the time on a campaign, because the candidate, the manager and sometimes the party all sign it off. Order early enough that the signs are in hand before the posting period opens.

Can the same design print on corflute, A-frames and flyers?

Yes, if the artwork is set up for each shape. A portrait 600 × 900mm corflute panel drops straight into an A-frame; a flyer needs its own layout. Send one design and we can adapt it — see artwork setup for what that costs.
