Real jobs, with the dates

We are new. Rather than write a page about how fast we are and leave you to take it on faith, here are the jobs we have run: what each customer asked for, what went wrong with the artwork and how we fixed it, what they were charged where we can evidence it, and the dates each step actually happened on. Where a customer has shared a photo of their order arriving, it is here. Customers are named only with their permission, and nothing here is rounded in our favour.

Eight jobs, and why say so

Eight jobs is eight jobs. It is a short list, and we show it as it happened rather than as a flattering selection: awkward ones included, dates attached, and you can judge the pattern for yourself.

Ten site signs from a single image, recreated for free

Victoria · 10 corflute signs with eyelets · delivered

A building group in Victoria ordered 10 corflute signs, 600 × 900mm, 5mm, printed one side with eyelets in all four corners. They had no artwork, only an image, and an image on its own is not print-ready artwork. We recreated it as print-ready artwork at no charge and proofed it. It was ordered, proofed and paid on the Wednesday, dispatched on the Thursday, and delivered to their door on the Monday: three working days after the order.

Menus and flyers for a restaurant, needed at the door by Monday

Queensland · three print items in one order · delivered

An Indian restaurant in Queensland ordered three things at once: 3,000 A5 flyers, as three different designs of 1,000 each, printed both sides on 150gsm gloss; 500 A4 takeaway menus folded to DL on 150gsm gloss; and 15 premium laminated dine-in menus, A3 printed both sides and folded to A4. They needed all of it at the door by the Monday, and it was there. The order was placed, proofed and paid on the Tuesday.

Three different products in one order, and three different flyer designs in one run at no extra charge: the customer dealt with a single desk rather than chasing three suppliers. The photos below show it on their doorstep. We have blurred the delivery labels and cropped out the address, and the restaurant is not named.

1,000 flyers from AI-generated artwork, fixed for free

Victoria · 1,000 A5 flyers · delivered

A window-film business in Victoria ordered 1,000 A5 flyers on 150gsm gloss, printed both sides. The artwork had been made with an AI image generator, which is the usual reason a file cannot go to press as it is. We fixed it for them, at no charge. The order was received, proofed and paid on the Monday, and the flyers were dispatched on the Friday and delivered to their door.

The customer left a Google review afterwards and shared photos of the finished flyers, front and back, which are below. They are the customer’s own photos of their own flyers, shared by them.

An AI-made flag design, fixed and enhanced for free

New South Wales · extra small feather flag · delivered

A customer in New South Wales ordered an extra small feather flag with a design they had made with AI. We fixed and enhanced the artwork at no charge and sent the proof the next day. They approved it online and paid on the Wednesday, and the flag was printed, dispatched and delivered on the Friday, two days after payment.

Ordered, set, proofed and paid in one day: 25 site signs

New South Wales · 25 corflute signs · delivered

Smart Electrical, an electrical contractor in New South Wales, ordered 25 corflute signs at 600 × 900mm, printed one side, with eyelets in all four corners — the standard build for signs that get cable-tied to a fence and moved between sites. $445.50 including GST and freight, at the rate that applied then. Corflute has been priced delivered since 23 September, and the same order today is $17.60 a sign with the delivery inside it.

Everything happened on the Friday: the order arrived, the artwork was set and corrected, the proof was approved and it was paid for, all the same day. It went to press from there, was dispatched on the Tuesday and delivered on Wednesday 16 September — two days before it was due. They did not have to wait on an email from us to find out where it was: the tracker link showed them, ticking over to dispatched and then delivered on its own.

A thousand flyers, quoted and paid on the same Sunday

Queensland · 1,000 A5 flyers · delivered

A cleaning business on the Gold Coast asked for a price on 1,000 A5 flyers, full colour, one side, on 150gsm gloss. They asked for two things most enquiries do not: the price with GST included rather than added at the end, and a pickup price as well as a delivered one. They also said the artwork was ready.

It was not. That is not a criticism of them — almost nobody can tell by looking, because a file that is perfectly sharp on a phone can be well under the resolution it needs at print size, and nothing on screen warns you. We ran it through the same resolution check that sits on this site as a free tool. Then we told them — by email and on the phone — what was wrong, that we would fix it, and that there was no charge for it. Only then did we fix the file and put it in front of them as a proof.

The enquiry arrived on a Sunday afternoon. It was quoted at $143 including GST that same afternoon, the proof went out and came back approved, and the job was paid for — all four steps, on the Sunday. The flyers were at their gate on Thursday 10 September.

A banner, ordered on a Saturday night, delivered Wednesday

New South Wales · one PVC banner · delivered

A customer in New South Wales wanted a pool-hall themed banner for his shed. He had made the picture himself with an AI image generator on a Saturday night, which meant the artwork existed but was nowhere near the right shape for a 2000 × 700mm banner — the usual outcome with a generated image, and the usual reason a file gets bounced back somewhere else.

We resized and reset it rather than asking him for a better file, sent the proof, and quoted $158.40 including GST and delivery — $130.90 for the banner and $27.50 freight. He approved the proof the same evening. Payment landed Monday morning. The banner arrived at his door at 11am on Wednesday.

A first order from Victoria, before Victoria was open

Victoria · 250 flyers · delivered

250 flyers on 350gsm matt — a heavier, uncoated stock than a flyer usually runs on, which is the right call when the flyer is going to be handed over rather than dropped in a letterbox. About $105 including GST, at the rate that applied then.

This one is here for an awkward reason as much as a flattering one. It arrived in late August, before we had production arranged in Victoria at all, and it took from the Friday it landed to the following Thursday to get through proofing and payment — slower at the front end than the banner or the Gold Coast flyers. Victoria opened properly on 9 September. A job like this one today would not wait on the same thing twice.

The pattern, such as it is

Eight jobs, four things they have in common

The weekend is not a wall

The banner (a Saturday night) and the Gold Coast flyers (a Sunday afternoon) both arrived outside business hours and were answered the same day. That is not a service-level promise, it is just what happened. If it matters to your job, ask and we will tell you honestly what we can hold to.

At least six of these eight arrived with artwork that could not be printed as supplied

The banner, the flyers, the site signs, the window-film flyers, the building group’s signs and the feather flag. Not one of those customers did anything wrong, and one of them told us in writing that the file was ready — because a file that looks perfect on a phone can be nowhere near sharp enough at 600 × 900mm, and nothing on screen tells you. On the banner, the flyers and the site signs we told the customer first — by email and on the phone — what was wrong and that fixing it cost them nothing, and only then touched the file; the Victorian flyers, the building group signs and the feather flag were fixed at no charge too. Changing somebody’s artwork without telling them is a liberty, not a service. See design and setup for when that is free and when it is charged.

The free tools are what we check with

The resolution checker on this site is not a giveaway built for visitors. It is what caught the problem on these jobs, at the size the job was actually printing at. You can run your own file through it before you order, and see what we would see.

Nothing was charged before the proof

On the banner, both early sets of flyers and the site signs, the proof was approved before any money moved. That is the order of operations on every job, not a courtesy extended to the first few.

Common questions

Why are some of these missing a delivery date or a price?

Because we cannot prove them from the record. The job tracker was built partway through the first four jobs, and on the earlier ones the later steps were never filled in after the fact. On the later jobs we show what is on record, which sometimes is a dispatch date rather than a delivery date. The dates we do show are the ones recorded at the time. We would rather publish a page with gaps in it than one with plausible guesses.

Why are most customers not named?

Because we name a customer only when they have told us they are happy to be named, and we do not assume it. Smart Electrical have, so their 25 site signs carry their name; the rest stay anonymous until they say otherwise. The exceptions are the reviews and photos that customers published or shared themselves, on our public listings. Delivery photos have their labels blurred and the address cropped out.

Are these your best jobs?

They are not picked for looking good. When there are forty we will still show the awkward ones — the 250-flyer Victorian job is here precisely because it was the slowest at the front end.

Do I get a tracker link like the one described here?

Yes. Once a job is confirmed you get a private link showing exactly where it is, with the due date on it: received, artwork, your approval, payment, printing, dispatched, delivered. It updates itself, so there is nothing to ring up and ask. The six steps are explained on how it works.

Can I get something faster than the times shown here?

Sometimes. A tighter date is quoted per job rather than promised on a page — talk to us or put the date you need on the order request and we will tell you straight away whether it is possible.
