Parramatta & Western Sydney · Church Street to the M7
Signage for Parramatta and the west, measured at the building
Parramatta has a tower going up on one corner and a colonial-era heritage item on the next, apartments above nearly every shop, and an industrial belt behind it that runs from Rydalmere to Eastern Creek. Those three facts decide most of what a sign can be here: how it attaches, whether it can be lit, and how far away it has to read. So we start at your premises rather than at a checkout — measure the fascia, the hoarding line or the vehicle, work out the approval question with you, and quote the sign as it will actually be built. You see a proof on your phone, and nothing is fabricated until you approve it.

What the west actually orders
Three jobs that keep coming up, and the pages for them
Fascias with flats above them
Church Street, Harris Park, Merrylands and Westmead frontages now sit under apartments, which changes what can be lit and how bright. We measure and quote around that rather than finding out at approval.
Site and hoarding signage
The statutory site sign, then the hoarding banners and mesh that go with it. Western Sydney builds more than anywhere else in the state, and the signs are the first thing a certifier looks for.
Fleet decals for the M4 and M7
Utes, vans and trailers based in Wetherill Park, Eastern Creek and Smithfield spend their day being read at 100 km/h. Cut decals for a fleet of six, a wrap for the one that goes to site meetings.
Approval in the City of Parramatta, and why it comes first
Exempt, or consent
New South Wales lets some smaller, unlit business identification signs go up without consent under the state exempt-development rules; everything outside those limits needs the council. In Parramatta the answer moves street by street, because a CBD tenancy, a suburban shopfront and a café in a heritage building in North Parramatta are three different answers to the same question. The two things that most often tip a sign into needing consent here are illumination near the apartments that now surround the centre, and anything on or near a heritage item. Read does your sign need approval in Parramatta? before you order anything that fixes to a building, and ask the council's duty planner the one question that matters: is this exempt, or do I need consent.
Further west the council changes and so does the answer. Blacktown has its own page, and the state-wide picture is at NSW signage approval. An A-frame on a Church Street footpath is council land and its own permit conversation.
If consent is needed we supply the dimensioned drawings and the scaled elevation for the application, and we schedule fabrication around the approval rather than finishing early and storing your sign. On a building site the statutory sign has its own rules again: what a NSW site sign must show covers the licence numbers and the placement.
Where the measure happens
Parramatta first, then the arc around it
The Parramatta CBD and Westmead, Harris Park and Granville, Merrylands and Auburn, Rydalmere and Sydney Olympic Park, then out along the M4 to Blacktown, Penrith and the Wetherill Park, Smithfield and Eastern Creek industrial estates. For a vehicle the measure happens wherever it is parked, including your yard at seven in the morning before the fleet leaves. Booking starts from the shopfront signage page or a call to (02) 5302 3372. If you are closer to the harbour, Sydney is the page for the inner city and the north and south.
Made in NSW, fitted by the people who measured it
No showroom, on purpose
There is no HSH Prints and Signages counter in Parramatta to walk into, and no showroom sign to look at. What there is, is a person at your building with a tape measure and a camera, a quote for that wall rather than an average one, a proof you mark up on your phone, and the same crew back to fit the finished sign. Fabrication is in New South Wales, so a Western Sydney sign is not a Western Sydney freight bill. One number reaches us: (02) 5302 3372.
Common questions from the west
Can my Parramatta shopfront sign be illuminated?
Often, but it is the question the council asks first here. The centre now has apartments above and beside most tenancies, and a lit sign near residential windows draws more scrutiny than the same sign on an industrial estate; moving or changeable displays are more restricted again. Tell us at the site measure whether you want it lit and we quote both ways, so the approval decides rather than the invoice.
I have a site in Western Sydney. What sign do I need before work starts?
A principal contractor sign with the builder's name, licence number and an after-hours contact, in the size and position the NSW rules set out. It is a corflute board rather than a measured sign, so it does not need a site visit: order it online, set from what you type, and it is with you in 2-4 working days from payment, delivered. The hoarding banners around it are measured if they are large, or ordered as vinyl banners by the metre if they are not.
Do you do fleet decals, or only single vehicles?
Both, and a fleet is the better job for us. We measure one vehicle of each model, set the artwork once, and the decals for the rest of the fleet are cut to the same template, so six utes leave Eastern Creek looking like six of the same thing. Wrap or decals is the guide for deciding which.
How long does a measured sign take in Parramatta?
The measure is booked within days. Fabrication and fitting run from your approval and payment, and the calendar is set by the council if consent is involved, which is why we schedule around the approval rather than promising a date before it. We tell you the date once we know it, and if anything threatens it, before it does.
Can you make carpark signage in Parramatta?
Yes. Carpark entry and exit, directional and safety signs come as rigid board in standard sizes and are delivered; fixed or fabricated signs are measured on site. See directional signs for the standard range.
