Christmas & New Year 2026 · Australia-wide
Christmas print for your business, from the trading hours to the Boxing Day sale
December is the month a shop changes its hours, runs its biggest sale and wraps more parcels than the rest of the year together. The print is small and it all has a deadline: the hours sign has to be on the door before the first closed day, and the sale banner up before Boxing Day. This page is the list, priced, with the dates to work back from.
The dates this year
2026–27
| Day | Date | What it means for print |
|---|---|---|
| Last orders before the break | Tuesday 15 December, 12pm | Approve and pay your proof by 12pm Sydney time and it is made before production closes. |
| Our production break | Friday 18 December to Monday 4 January | Production is closed. Quotes and special requests for selected items still come by email — ask and we will say what can be arranged. |
| Christmas Day | Friday 25 December | Public holiday everywhere. Have Christmas print in hand the week before. |
| Boxing Day | Saturday 26 December | Most states take Monday 28 December as the holiday. Sales still start Saturday. |
| New Year’s Day | Friday 1 January 2027 | Public holiday everywhere. Put it on the same hours sign as Christmas. |
| Back in production | Tuesday 5 January 2027 | Orders approved over the break start that day, in the order they came in. |
Work back from the day it has to be up. Most print here takes two to four working days from your proof approval, plus delivery, and the fortnight before Christmas is the busiest of the year for couriers. Approve your proof by Friday 11 December for anything that must be in place before Christmas, and earlier for banners and anything quoted. The last day we can make anything before the break is set by the 12pm Tuesday 15 December cut-off.

Common questions
When should I order Christmas print?
Approve your proof by Friday 11 December for anything that has to be in place before Christmas. Most print takes two to four working days from approval, plus delivery, and courier networks are at their slowest in the last fortnight before Christmas. Banners, window decals and anything quoted need longer — start those in November.
Is Boxing Day a public holiday on Monday 28 December?
In most states, yes. Boxing Day falls on Saturday 26 December 2026, so the public holiday moves to Monday 28 December in most states and territories. Check your own state’s list before you print the hours — the wall planner lists them for NSW, Queensland and Victoria.
How do I make a Christmas trading hours sign?
Use the free opening hours sign maker: choose “Hours + holiday trading”, enter your usual hours and the Christmas and New Year days, and download a print-ready A4 or A3 PDF. To have it made as a window decal, send it from the same page and it is quoted with the PDF attached.
Can you print gift tags with our logo?
Yes. Swing tags double as gift tags: rectangle, cut-corner or round, on white or kraft card, with strings threaded if you want them, from $87.74 for 100, delivered. There is a gift tag template with “For” and “From” lines under Design it online.
Is delivery included in the prices?
Yes, where the price says “delivered”, which is every product sold online here. Quoted items such as window decals and menus are priced with delivery in the quote.
