Mesh or PVC? — wind is what destroys banners, not sun or rain. For an exposed fence, use mesh banners and fence wraps instead.
Common questions
How much does a vinyl banner cost?
$74.50 a square metre, including GST and delivery Australia-wide, with a minimum of $135 a banner. So a 1000 × 1000mm is $135, a 2000 × 1000mm $149, a 3000 × 1000mm $223.50 and a 4000 × 1000mm $298. That is PVC 610gsm blockout, printed full colour, hemmed all round with eyelets. A Keder edge adds $15 a banner and a rope hem top and bottom adds $25. Mesh or pole pockets are quoted.
How long do vinyl banners take?
Vinyl banners take 2-4 working days from payment, delivered. Need it sooner? Ask — a tighter date is quoted per job — talk to us or put the date on the order request. They are printed, hemmed and eyeletted at the nearest press we work with to the delivery address.
Should I use mesh or PVC for an outdoor banner?
Use mesh for anything outdoors and unsheltered, and PVC for anything indoors, on a wall, in a frame or on a sheltered fence. Banners online are PVC; mesh is quoted. Wind is what destroys banners, not sun or rain: a solid PVC banner on an exposed fence becomes a sail, and it will either tear at the eyelets or stay intact and pull the fence over. Mesh is perforated so air passes through, at the cost of some opacity — the full comparison is here.
What sizes can I order?
Any size from 500mm a side up to 2000 × 5000mm, either way round, under Custom size in the calculator above — it does not have to be a round size. Under about 1.8 square metres the $135 minimum applies, because the hemming, the eyelets and the delivery cost the same on a small banner as on a large one. Bigger than 2000 × 5000mm is quoted, as it usually means a join or a freight run of its own.
What is a Keder edge, and when do I need rope?
A Keder edge is a plastic bead sewn into the hem, so the banner slides into an aluminium track or a frame and sits drum-tight — the finish for a shopfront frame or an event truss with a Keder rail. A rope hem runs a rope inside the top and bottom hems, so the banner can be tensioned between posts or across scaffolding without the eyelets tearing. For a fence or a wall with cable ties, the standard hem and eyelets is all it needs.
How much clearance do I need around banner artwork?
Keep everything important 50mm clear of every edge. The hem folds the material back on itself and the eyelets punch through that fold, so artwork sitting at the edge either disappears into the hem or gets a hole in it. Supply artwork at 150dpi at final size.
What happens if the job arrives wrong?
Tell the desk as soon as it lands, with a photo of what you received. If the fault is in the making, it is remade under the reprints policy; if it is in the artwork, we say so straight rather than reprinting the same mistake. When your print arrives wrong walks through what to photograph and what to expect.
Can I get event banners printed?
Yes. Event banners are our standard vinyl banners printed to the size and wording of your event, with hemmed edges and eyelets ready to tie to a fence, stage or marquee. Choose the size, upload your artwork or design it online, and see a proof before it prints. For wind-heavy sites, ask about mesh.
Do you print promotional vinyl and mesh banners?
Yes. Standard PVC vinyl banners are priced on this page. Mesh banners, which let wind through, have their own page and are quoted to your size, as is anything bigger than the online limits. See mesh banners.
Can I order custom banners and business banners?
Yes. Custom banners and business banners are our standard PVC vinyl banner, made to any size from 500mm up to 2000 × 5000mm, with hemmed edges and eyelets ready to hang. Type the size in the calculator, add your artwork or design it online, and see a proof first.
Is a vinyl banner the same as a vinyl sign?
A vinyl banner is flexible printed PVC with a hem and eyelets for hanging from a fence, frame or building. If you want a rigid sign instead, corflute or foam board hold their shape on a stake or a wall.
