Foam board signs

Foam board — also called foam core or foamcore — is a sheet of rigid extruded polystyrene foam with smooth white paper bonded to both faces. The foam makes it stiff and very light; the paper gives the print a flat, clean surface. Ours is 5mm thick, which stands on an easel or hangs on a wall without bowing at the everyday sizes.

The same as corflute: five 600 × 900mm signs are $160 including GST and delivery — $32 each — dropping to $24.70 each at ten and $14.30 at thirty. The smaller 600 × 450mm is 20% less, from $128 for five. Printing both sides adds $8.80 per sign. Holes in the corners are free; double-sided tape on the corners adds $15 and a router cut to your shape adds $15, each once per order.

Yes, and it costs nothing extra: up to five different designs in the same order, at the same price per sign. So five signs can be five different signs — the welcome sign, the seating plan, the order of the day, the raffle table and the thank-you — or a community group’s set of event signs. Choose how many designs when you order and send us every file or every set of wording; each one gets its own proof. Ten signs across five designs is two of each, or any split you tell us.

No. It is an indoor board: the paper face does not like rain, and the foam core softens in strong heat, so a dark sign left in full sun can bow. Under cover for a day it is fine. For a fence, a building site or anything left out in the weather, use corflute — the same sizes at the same price, made for outside.

Indoors, foam board: a smoother, whiter face that looks sharper up close, on a counter, in a window or on an easel. Outdoors, corflute: waterproof plastic that lasts a season or two in the weather. The price is the same, so the choice is only where the sign will live.

Instead of a plain rectangle, the board is cut to a shape — a circle, a speech bubble, a logo outline. Send the shape as a vector line on its own layer in your artwork (a PDF or AI file), or tell us the shape and we draw it. It is $15 per order, however many boards share that shape.

Stand them on an easel, or hang them. For a wall or a window, choose double-sided tape on the corners ($15 per order) and the signs arrive ready to press on. For hooks, string or cable ties, choose holes drilled in the four corners, which is free. Foam board is not eyeletted: a punched eyelet tears out of the paper face.

Not online. Like corflute, foam board is sold in fives, from 5 to 30, because a courier charges about the same for one rigid board as for ten. Five are $160 delivered, with the design included. More than thirty? Ask for a quote on the run.
