Guide · what things cost

How much does a vinyl banner cost in Australia?

A vinyl banner is $74.50 a square metre, including GST and delivery Australia-wide, with a minimum of $135 a banner. A 2000 × 1000mm is $149, a 3000 × 1000mm $223.50. Heavy PVC, hemmed and eyeletted, any size up to 2000 × 5000mm.

What each size costs

Every figure below is PVC 610gsm blockout, printed full colour on one side, hemmed all round with eyelets, including GST and delivery. Any size in between works the same way: the area times $74.50, and never less than $135.

Why a small banner costs the minimum

The material is only part of a banner’s price. The hemming, the eyelets, the setup and the courier cost about the same on a one-metre banner as on a two-metre one, so below about 1.8 square metres the price stops falling and sits at the $135 minimum. That is why a 1000 × 500mm and a 1000 × 1000mm cost the same — and why, if the space allows, going up to 2000 × 1000mm costs only a little more for twice the banner.

What the spec means

PVC 610gsm blockout. A heavy banner with a blockout layer in the middle, so light and anything behind it do not show through. Light banners — 340gsm and under — are closer to a tablecloth and tear at the first eyelet.

Hemmed, with eyelets. The edges are folded and welded, and the eyelets punch through that reinforced fold. Tie through them with cable ties or bungee cord. It is in every price above.

Rope hem top and bottom, +$25. A cord welded into the long edges, so the banner can be pulled tight between two posts or across scaffolding without the eyelets carrying all the load. It is what stops the middle sagging on a long span.

Keder edge, +$15. A plastic bead sewn into the hem, so the banner slides into an aluminium track or frame and sits drum-tight — for a shopfront frame or an event truss with a Keder rail.

When to ask for a quote instead

  • Bigger than 2000 × 5000mm. Usually a join or a freight run of its own, so it is priced by hand.
  • Mesh. For an exposed, unsheltered fence. Wind is what destroys banners — not sun, not rain — and a solid sheet on a fence is a sail. Mesh or PVC goes through it properly.
  • Pole pockets. A sleeve along an edge for a pole instead of eyelets.

A quote comes back with the delivered price, the same way.

What is not in that figure

Artwork, sometimes. Setting up supplied artwork is free with every print order. A banner designed from nothing is quoted per job. Whoever sets it up, keep everything that matters 50mm clear of every edge: the hem folds the material back on itself and the eyelets punch through the fold. The free templates have that band marked.

Installation and fixings. Cable ties, bungee cords or rope are yours to supply, and a banner going up on scaffolding or a building front is quoted with the job in New South Wales and Queensland.

How to read anyone’s banner price

  1. Per square metre, or per banner? A rate is only comparable at a size. Ask what the banner you actually want comes to.
  2. Is it hemmed and eyeletted? Some prices are for the raw print, with finishing added afterwards. Ours include both.
  3. What weight? 440gsm and up is a banner; ours is 610gsm blockout. 340gsm tears at the first eyelet.
  4. Is delivery in it? A cheap rate with freight on top is not a cheap banner. Ours is delivered.
  5. Including GST? Every figure here includes GST and delivery, and nothing is added at the checkout.

Common questions

How much does a 2m x 1m vinyl banner cost?

$149 including GST and delivery Australia-wide — PVC 610gsm blockout, hemmed with eyelets. Rope top and bottom adds $25.

How much is a vinyl banner per square metre?

$74.50 a square metre, including GST and delivery, with a minimum of $135 a banner. The minimum is what anything under about 1.8 square metres costs, so a 1000 × 1000mm is $135.

How much does a 3m x 1m banner cost?

$223.50 including GST and delivery, with the same spec. A 4000 × 1000mm is $298.

Can I order a vinyl banner in a custom size?

Yes, straight from the product page: type the width and height, anything from 500mm a side up to 2000 × 5000mm, and the delivered price is worked out as you type. Bigger than that is quoted.

Do vinyl banners come with eyelets?

Yes — every banner is hemmed all round with eyelets, in the price. A rope hem top and bottom adds $25, a Keder edge $15, and pole pockets are quoted.

Do you make mesh banners?

Yes, quoted. Mesh is the right choice for an exposed, unsheltered fence, because the wind passes through it rather than tearing it off; the banners priced online are PVC.

How long does a vinyl banner take?

2-4 working days from payment, delivered Australia-wide (allow 1 to 2 working days longer outside NSW, QLD and VIC). A tighter date for an event is quoted per job — say so when you ask.
