NSW election 2027: campaign print that is up before the voting starts
The NSW state election is on Saturday 13 March 2027, two weeks earlier than the usual fourth Saturday in March, so that it does not fall on Easter. Every campaign prints over summer to the same date: corflute on the fences, A-frames at the voting centres, how-to-vote cards and letterbox flyers. Here is what campaigns order, what it costs, and how to work back from polling day.
The dates that matter
| Date | What |
|---|---|
| 1 October 2026 | The regulated period for donation disclosure began. |
| Summer 2026–27 | The writ, close of rolls, nominations and early voting dates are published by the NSW Electoral Commission as the election nears. |
| Saturday 13 March 2027 | Election day. Voting centres open 8am to 6pm. |
Check the NSW Electoral Commission for the current timetable before you set print deadlines. Early voting starts before election day, so polling-place material needs to be ready before the early voting centres open, not just for the Saturday.

Work back from polling day
- December: settle the design and the authorisation line. One design, approved by the candidate and the campaign, carried across the corflute, the A-frame and the flyers. The authorisation statement goes on the artwork; take the wording from the Electoral Commission’s guidance for this election.
- January: order the corflutes and A-frames. Corflute takes 2-4 working days from payment, delivered, and A-frames 2-4 working days. The proof round is what takes the time on a campaign, because several people sign it off. Have the signs in hand before your council’s display period opens.
- February: how-to-vote cards and the letterbox drop. Flyers take 2-4 working days. Confirm with the Electoral Commission what your how-to-vote material needs before it is handed out at voting centres, and work out the drop with the letterbox drop calculator.
- Before early voting opens: the polling-place kit. A-frames, a pull-up banner and volunteer shirts, at every early voting centre you are covering as well as on the day.
Design the corflute online, free
The corflute sign templates include an election candidate design — “Vote 1”, the candidate’s name and a line for the authorisation statement at the foot. Change the words, add a photo, press Done, and the print file goes with your order; the same design opens on the A-frame at the same size. Or download the 600 × 900mm corflute template for your designer, with the trim and safe area already set.
Two rules to check before you order
What is printed on it is electoral law: every piece of electoral material carries an authorisation statement, whatever its size, in the wording the Electoral Commission sets for this election. How big, where and for how long is planning law: in NSW an election sign can be exempt development if it meets the size and placement standard, and your council confirms what applies where your signs stand. The NSW election signs guide walks through both. This page is orientation, not legal advice.
Common questions
When is the NSW state election in 2027?
Saturday 13 March 2027. It was brought forward two weeks from 27 March, the end of the four-year term, because that date fell on the Easter weekend.
How many corflutes does a campaign need?
It depends on the electorate and how many supporters will host a sign. Corflute is sold in fives, and the price per sign falls as the count rises — $32 each at 5 and $14.30 at 30, delivered. Runs over 30 are quoted, and the rate keeps falling; ask for a campaign price.
Do you add the authorisation line?
No — it goes on the artwork you approve, in the wording the Electoral Commission sets for this election. We print what the approved proof shows. The free election template has a line for it at the foot.
Can the same design go on corflute, A-frames and flyers?
Yes. A 600 × 900mm corflute design drops straight into an A-frame; a flyer needs its own layout, and setting up supplied artwork for it is free with the order.
How late can we order?
Corflute and A-frames take a few working days from proof approval, delivered, so a week can be done. But councils set display periods and campaigns change their minds, so order in January and keep February for the how-to-vote cards.
