How much does a pull-up banner cost in Australia?

A standard pull-up banner — the 850 × 2000mm print on PVC blockout and the aluminium cassette it rolls into — is $160 including GST and delivery. A premium one, on a heavier, more durable base, is $280. That is the price per banner whether you order one or ten.

Most of the price is the stand

A pull-up banner is a piece of hardware with a print in it, and the hardware is most of the cost. The cassette is an aluminium roller with a spring, a weighted base, a telescopic pole and a rail that clips to the top of the print. The print itself is two metres of film.

That has two consequences worth knowing. There is no quantity discount — $160 is the price of each banner whether you order one or ten, because the hardware costs what it costs however many you buy. And a replacement print for a cassette you already own is a different and much smaller job: the same two metres of film, fitted to your rail, with no stand. It is quoted rather than listed, because it depends on which cassette you have, but if the message changes and the stand is fine, ask for that rather than a whole new banner.

Standard or premium

The premium base adds $120 per banner, and the print is identical — the same high-quality PVC blockout on both. What you are paying for is the stand: heavier and more durable (4.7kg packed, against 3.2kg for the standard at 850mm wide), built to be put up and packed down week after week. Choose it for a banner that travels to trade shows or stands where people walk past it all day; the standard, lighter and economical, suits a stall, a one-off event or a second banner behind a table. The premium also comes 1200mm wide, which is quoted rather than listed.

No blockout upgrade to buy. Cheaper pull-ups are often printed on a thin polyester film that lets a window or a bright light behind it grey the colours; both of ours are printed on PVC blockout, which has an opaque layer through the middle so nothing shows through, and it lies flatter at the edges as it ages.

What is not in that figure

Delivery. Delivery is included in this price — Australia-wide, with no freight line at the cart and nothing added later. Allow 1 to 2 working days longer outside NSW, QLD and VIC. Your complete delivered price is confirmed before you pay.

Artwork, sometimes. Setting up supplied artwork is free with every print order. A banner designed from nothing is quoted per job. Either way, download the 850 × 2000mm template first: the top 50mm goes into the rail and the bottom 100mm rolls into the cassette, and artwork that ignores those two bands is the single most common way a pull-up comes back with the headline half hidden.

How to read anyone’s pull-up banner price

  1. Is the stand in it? Some prices are the print alone, for a cassette you are assumed to own. A banner price without a stand is not a banner price.
  2. What base? The cheapest cassettes are light plastic-footed units that tip in a draught and fail at the spring within a year. Ask whether it is aluminium and whether it is weighted.
  3. What size? 850 × 2000mm is the standard. 600 × 1600 is a tabletop unit and is a different product.
  4. What media? Film or blockout. If the quote does not say, it is film.
  5. Including GST and delivery? As always. Every figure here includes GST and delivery.

Common questions

How much does a pull-up banner cost in Australia?

A complete standard pull-up banner — 850 × 2000mm, printed on PVC blockout, with its base — is $160 including GST and delivery, and a premium one on the heavier, more durable base is $280. That is the price per banner at any quantity. Other sizes — 1500mm high, the 1200mm-wide premium and the shopping-centre version — are quoted.

How much does it cost to replace the print in a pull-up banner?

Considerably less than a new banner, because the cassette and base are most of the $160 and you already own them. A replacement print is the two metres of film fitted to your rail, and it is quoted rather than listed because it depends on which cassette you have. Tell the desk the make or send a photo of the rail.

What is the difference between the standard and premium pull-up banner?

The base. The print is the same PVC blockout on both. The standard base is lighter and economical, 3.2kg packed; the premium is heavier and more durable, 4.7kg packed, $120 more, for a banner that is set up often or stands in a busy space. The premium also comes 1200mm wide.

Will light show through the banner?

No. Both our pull-up banners are printed on PVC blockout, which has an opaque layer through the middle, so a window or a bright light behind the banner does not grey the colours. It is included in the price, not an upgrade.

What size is a standard pull-up banner?

850 × 2000mm — 850 wide, two metres tall — and artwork is supplied at that size with no bleed. The top 50mm sits in the rail and the bottom 100mm rolls into the cassette, so nothing that matters goes in either band. The free template has both marked.

How long do pull-up banners take?

2-4 working days from payment, delivered Australia-wide (allow 1 to 2 working days longer outside NSW, QLD and VIC). That runs from the moment you approve the proof rather than from when you order, so a quick sign-off is the fastest route to a banner at the show.
