Foam PVC signs

Foam PVC — also sold as PVC foam board — is a sheet of expanded PVC plastic: rigid, light for its stiffness, and white right through, with a smooth face that takes print cleanly. It is solid plastic rather than paper over foam, so it shrugs off a splash and can be wiped clean, and it cuts and drills without crumbling.

Prices are for five signs printed one side, including GST and delivery. 5mm: A3 $130, A2 $160, A1 $205. 3mm: A3 $120, A2 $150, A1 $170. 2mm: A3 $115, A2 $133, A1 $160. Ten are twice five, and so on up to thirty. Printing both sides adds $3 a sign. Holes in the corners are free; double-sided tape on the corners and a router cut to your shape are $15 each, once per order.

Yes, and it costs nothing extra: up to five different designs in the same order, at the same price per sign, so five signs can be five different signs. Choose how many designs when you order and send us every file or every set of wording; each one gets its own proof.

5mm for anything that stands on its own, hangs from two points or gets handled — it stays flat and feels solid. 3mm for signs screwed or stuck flat to a wall or door, where the wall does the holding. 2mm for the lightest, cheapest sign that is fully supported, such as a panel taped inside a frame or onto glass.

For a short while, yes: PVC foam does not soak up water, so rain does not hurt it. It is rated for interior use and short-term exterior use, though, because it softens at around 55°C — a dark sign in the full Australian sun reaches that and can bow. For months outdoors, choose corflute or ask us about aluminium composite.

Foam board is foam with paper faces: lighter and cheaper at the standard sizes, but indoor only and easily dented. Foam PVC is solid plastic: tougher, wipeable, happy with screws, and able to handle a spell outside. For a sign on an easel for a day, foam board; for a sign on a wall for a year, foam PVC.

Yes — choose Custom size and type the width and height, anything from 210mm a side up to A1 (594 × 841mm), either way round. It is priced by area between the A3, A2 and A1 prices of the thickness you pick, so a size between A3 and A2 costs between their prices. Larger than A1? Ask for a quote.

Screw through the corners — choose holes drilled in the four corners, free — or choose double-sided tape on the corners ($15 per order) and they arrive ready to press onto a wall, door or glass. Cable ties or hooks go through the drilled holes too.

Not online: they are sold in fives, from 5 to 30, because the courier costs about the same for one rigid board as for five. More than thirty? Ask for a quote.
