How big is a 50mm sticker? See it next to things you know
Pick a circle, square or rectangle from 25 to 100mm and see it to scale beside a $1 coin, a phone, a takeaway coffee cup, a jam jar and a takeaway container — or switch to real size and hold your own jar up to the screen. It tells you what fits on a sticker that size, and the nearest size we print.
Hold a bank card flat against the screen and drag until the outline is exactly the card’s size. Every bank card is the same, 85.6 × 54mm. Your setting is kept on this device.
A 50mm circle
The coin is exact. The phone, cup, jar and container are typical sizes — yours may be a few millimetres either way.
For labels under 40mm, a 35 × 35mm square label on a roll is 1000 for $206.25, or ask for a quote on a smaller sticker.

Common sticker sizes, and what each one is for
- 25mm (1 inch) — the size of a $1 coin. A logo mark, a seal across a bag or a box, a dot on a price tag.
- 38 to 40mm (1½ inches) — a jar lid, a coffee cup seal, a small packaging closure. A logo and a couple of words.
- 50mm (2 inches) — the most common sticker of all. A logo with a short line, or a QR code with a word under it.
- 65 to 75mm (2½ to 3 inches) — laptop lids, water bottles, the front of a jar. Room for a name and two or three lines.
- 100mm (4 inches) — a full label: a takeaway lid, a box, a window. As wide as most phones.
A sticker reads smaller in the hand than it looks on a screen, because a screen zooms. If a size looks right here, it is usually right; if you are between two sizes, the bigger one is the one people can read. For a QR code, keep the code itself at least 25mm across — the QR size guide explains why.
Common questions
How big is a 50mm sticker?
Two $1 coins side by side — a $1 coin is exactly 25mm across. On a phone it covers most of the width of the back; on a takeaway coffee cup it sits comfortably on the side with room to spare. 50mm is about 2 inches, and the most common sticker size there is.
What size sticker should I put on a jar?
For the lid of a standard jam jar, about 50mm round; for the front, a rectangle around 60 × 90mm, or up to 100mm wide if it can wrap round the side. A 375ml jar is about 70mm across, so a label wider than about 110mm reaches halfway round and part of it goes out of sight from the front.
What size sticker fits a takeaway coffee cup?
On the side of a regular 8oz cup, 40 to 65mm round reads well and wraps without creasing. As a seal over the lid’s sip hole or across the lid and cup, 25 to 40mm. A cup tapers, so a rectangle wider than about 70mm starts to sit unevenly.
What is a good size for a logo sticker for packaging?
50mm round or square for a box or a bag, 38 to 40mm to seal tissue paper or a fold, and 75mm or more if the sticker is the label itself. If it carries a phone number or a web address as well as the logo, go no smaller than 50mm.
Is the real-size view accurate?
Once you measure your screen, yes: hold a bank card against it and match the outline — every bank card is 85.6 × 54mm, so that fixes the scale. Without it, browsers guess at your screen’s size, and the guess can be out by a third on a phone. The coin is exact; the phone, cup, jar and container are typical sizes.
What is the smallest sticker you print?
Circles and squares from 40mm and rectangles from 30 × 45mm, in any quantity from 10. Labels on a roll go down to 35 × 35mm in thousands. For anything smaller, ask for a quote.
