Why corflute is sold in fives

Two costs do not care how many signs are in the order. A corflute sign is cut on a router from a full sheet of board, and the router is set up, run and cleaned down whether it cuts one sign or thirty. And corflute is bulky and light, so a courier charges for the space it takes rather than its weight: a carton of ten costs about what a carton of one does. On a single sign those two costs were most of the bill — the delivery alone could come close to the price of the board.

So corflute is sold in fives, and priced delivered. Five signs are $32 each with the courier already paid, ten are $24.70, and by thirty the per-sign figure has fallen to $14.30. A real estate agency ordering a season of boards, a builder signing a few sites or a club dressing a fence line are the orders this is priced for. A campaign or a franchise rollout above thirty is quoted, because at that size the run and the delivery are worth pricing by hand.

What the options add

Printing both sides adds $8.80 per sign at any quantity. Unlike a business card, the back of a corflute is a second pass through a flatbed printer, so it is a real cost — but a small one, and on anything read from both directions, like a sign on a fence corner or an A-frame, it is the difference between one sign and two.

The 1200 × 900mm size adds $14.30 per sign for twice the board. The 900 × 600mm landscape costs the same as the 600 × 900mm portrait, because it is the same board turned. Sign sizes and viewing distance says which one a given road or footpath needs.

Eyelets in the four corners add $2.20 per sign, and you want them on anything that ties to a fence. Without them, cable ties go through the flutes and tear out in the first wind.

Installation is quoted with the job, in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria, because it depends on where the signs are going and how many there are. Tick it on the order and the desk prices it before anything is printed.

Delivery is in the price

Delivery is included in this price — Australia-wide, with no freight line at the cart and nothing added later. Allow 1 to 2 working days longer outside NSW, QLD and VIC. Your complete delivered price is confirmed before you pay.

That is the rule every other quote should be read against. Corflute is charged by couriers for the space it takes, so on a small order the delivery can be a large share of the total, and a quote that gives you a sign price and says nothing about delivery has left out the number that decides whether it was cheap. Every figure on this page is the delivered one.

What is not in that figure

Not the sign design — that is included. Send your logo, the wording and the phone number, and we lay the sign out and send a proof to approve, or tidy the file you already have. What stays quoted per job is a logo redrawn from a photo or a screenshot, photo retouching, and a design concept from nothing.

A frame. A corflute panel that has to stand on a footpath is an A-frame sign, from $198 with the frame — the same 600 × 900mm panel, in a weighted steel frame that comes in at night.

The rules for where it goes. Not a cost, until it is. Most councils regulate signage on public land and on a building’s exterior — council approval in NSW and in Queensland cover the general rules. Election material carries its own placement and authorisation rules on top of that: see election signs in NSW or in Queensland.

How to read anyone’s corflute price

  1. Is freight in it, and how much of it? The question that decides everything on this product. A sign price without a delivered price is half a number.
  2. How thick? 5mm is the standard board. 3mm is a real-estate flash for a signboard, not a sign, and it folds in a breeze.
  3. One side or two? Some ladders quote single and add the back later.
  4. What size? 600 × 900 is the universal board. A price for 450 × 600 is a price for less than half the sign.
  5. At what quantity? The per-sign figure more than halves between five and thirty. A “from” price is usually the biggest run on the list.
  6. Including GST? As always. Every figure here includes it.

Common questions

How much does a corflute sign cost in Australia?

Five 600 × 900mm corflute signs printed one side are $160 including GST and delivery — $32 each — falling to $24.70 each at ten, $17 at twenty and $14.30 at thirty. Printing both sides adds $8.80 a sign and eyelets add $2.20. The sign design is included.

How much do 10 corflute signs cost?

Ten 600 × 900mm signs printed one side are $247 including GST and delivery — $24.70 each — with the sign design included. Both sides adds $8.80 a sign.

Can I order just one corflute sign?

Not online. Corflute is sold in fives, from 5 to 30, because a courier charges about the same for one board as for ten — on a single sign the delivery came close to the price of the sign. Five are $160 delivered, which is $32 a sign with nothing added at the cart.

Is delivery included on corflute signs?

Yes. Delivery is included in this price — Australia-wide, with no freight line at the cart and nothing added later. Allow 1 to 2 working days longer outside NSW, QLD and VIC. Your complete delivered price is confirmed before you pay.

What about more than thirty signs?

They are quoted. An election campaign, an agency’s whole season or a franchise rollout is priced by hand, because at that size the run and the delivery are worth working out properly. Send the quantity and sizes and you get a written price, GST and delivery included.

Does double-sided corflute cost twice as much?

No. Both sides adds $8.80 per sign at any quantity — a second pass through the printer on a board that was already cut. On a fence corner or an A-frame, where the sign is read from both directions, that is the cheapest second sign you will ever buy.

How long do corflute signs last outside?

Six to eighteen months, depending on sun and wind. UV fades the ink before the board fails, so a sign in full northern sun ages faster than one under an awning. Eyelets in the corners, at $2.20 a sign, are what keep it on the fence long enough to find out.

How long do corflute signs take to print?

2-4 working days from payment, delivered Australia-wide (allow 1 to 2 working days longer outside NSW, QLD and VIC), produced in your state wherever we can. Installation, if you want it, is quoted with the job.
